Bless you! / Sarah N. (I am one ) Thank you to everyone that is helping with the recovery efforts, be they native, be they from another state, or even be they from another country. Much thanks to everyone who is rebuilding houses, rebuilding public places, and overall rebuilding our lives. Your efforts will not be forgotten. You guys are amazing and I give my heart out to you.
Army Corps of Engineers WLOX News Dan Jones Red Cross ABC News (especially Robin Roberts) Those kind folks in Stockton, Illinois Salvation Army Sun Herald All of the residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast And last, but certainly not least: All of the countless volunteers that I could not think of, much thanks to y'all, I'm not sure how we could have gotten by without you!
Shame on those who ripped off the residents here, including several contractors. Also, shame on those who say we should have gotten out. We had hardly a warning and many New Orleans residents were evacuating already, the freeways were full.
Big thanks to everyone else that kept us in your thoughts and prayers. We'll take care of you when you find yourselves between a rock and a hard place. Close

Damn i dont even know where to start i cant imagine what it must to have been like to experience this tragedy. here in jersey people are getting killed left to right fighting one another and not sticking together. Katrina is a perfect example of why us black communities need to stick together in the end all we have is each other remember that. Tough times may last so long but hold on and be strong. You may not have everything you had before katrina but you do have life and you do have faith and you will always have God. His love will help you through this hard time my heart goes out to all. Put ya lighters up. Close
During times such as these, it is especially important to draw close to God in prayer, for the Bible promises that “he himself will sustain you.” -Psalm 55:22. For help dealing with your grief, you may be encouraged by reading Philippians 4:6,7. Also, Revelation 21: 3,4 which promises a time when such things will never occur again. My prayers are with each and everyone of you.

Find Your Strength / Sheri Bonay (One Who Cares ) Sorrow Abounds...Lives Have Been Lost. Homes drift away with the Tide. Nothing can take the place of the loved one who stood so long by your side. Why is it only when tragedy strikes that the world unites in one flame. So many lives disrupted, precious too many did she claim. No matter the age, no matter the gender...she took the old, the young and tender. She left us all to pick up the pieces...pieces of lives, broken hearts, precious memories torn apart. The aftermath of her destruction will lay claim to many lives. She left her mark in the unmarked graves and left as quickly as she arrived. She forgot one thing in her devastation and this will be our one Salvation. The Unbroken Spirit of Faith, Strength, and the Fight to Survive that abides in each of us still. The old man crying on the side of the curb, the little child hugging her doll, the mother who shelters her children to her side...the father who still stands tall. Find your strength in your fellow man and he'll find strength in you too. Bond together in this time of need for those less fortunant than you! A Candle is lit for all the lives lost and all of the ones who remain. May God Grant you Strength and secure your hope in the midst of your loss and your pain.Close

Not only has this storm hurt the ones it hit, but everyone else around it. We must stand together as a nation and contribute to recovery. Keep up the strength and positive thinking and the road to recovery will be much shorter.
